"WOW!!! Hollywood might seem an easy target, but so few have written it well…Nathaniel West…F. Scott Fitzgerald…Budd Schulberg…and just a handful of others... Now comes novelist Tom Epperson with “Make Believe,” his Tinseltown tale of movie star handsome screenwriter Dustin Prewitt and movie star poison wife Laura Keene...“Make Believe” is a wonderful book. A Hollywood book. Also a book about love. Written by one who knows. Bravo Mr. Epperson!"

"Epperson does it again!
A delightful mostly comedic take on Hollywood with Make Believe. It's a realistic first hand take on the uniquely bizarre, dog eat dog culture of SoCal moviemaking. He's created fascinating and believable producer, actor, and screenwriter characters who inhabit this world. A captivating and fun read." -REDI, Amazon Review, on "Make Believe" |
"Couldn’t put it down! I started this book three days ago and didn’t want to put it down until I finished it. Epperson created characters and a story that gave me an inside look into the reality of working and living in Hollywood — a fictional account with strong accents of reality. His main character, Dustin Prewitt, slowly sneaks up and grabs you by the heart — you really hope he can find his way out of the mire and find some redemption. It’s a great read, funny and well-written, and I highly recommend it."
